Brawley native pitcher Jake Sanchez has been selected to join Charros de Jalisco and help the Mexican team in the Caribbean Series.
Charros won over the weekend the Mexican Pacific League after defeating Tomateros de Culiacan in seven games.
Sanchez, along with Aguilas player Enrique Burgos, won the championship of the Dominican League with Gigantes del Cibao.
The Imperial Valley native was awarded with the Relief Pitcher of the Year and the Most Valuable Player of the season.
For “Jake Mate” this will be the fourth time playing for the Mexican team in the Caribbean Series.
This season, the Brawley native broke the record of most saved games in a single season league wide with 26. The Series starts Thursday in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
