Hundreds of Mexicali residents marched Wednesday through streets of the Civic Center in order to demand peace from the authorities.
The march was announced the previous day by the Employer Confederation President Octavio Sandoval.
Marchers were asked to get dressed in white and carry candles.
The march started at 6 p.m. from the Bicentennial Plaza and continued through the New River Boulevard north to the state Attorney General’s office headquarters.
Sandoval said the march was not organized by any political party, although some Mexicali council members said they will take part of the event, as well as other organizations. “Mexicali is so tired that must (express its concerns) with a march,” Sandoval said. “Let’s take part of the solution.”
