The number of murdered individuals in rural Mexicali in the last few days has already reached 10.

Mexicali police reported Monday having found a man who was allegedly assassinated in a rural area.

The finding took place in Ejido Lázaro Cárdenas rural town.

The corpse was located at about 3:30 p.m. after a reporting party told the police about the body.

The police reported that the body had shot wounds.

At the scene the authorities located several bullet casings.

At 2:40 p.m. Monday the body of Tony Herrera Maciel, 31, was located next to a canal in Ejido Veracruz Marítimo 3 rural town.

About 200 yards from the corpse was found the body of another man. Both victims had shot wounds.

Herrera Maciel was reported missing Friday after leaving his home to visit his girlfriend.

The identity of the second victim was not immediately available.

Another man was shot to death at 1:48 a.m. Tuesday around 100 yards from the Bachoco site in Ejido Cerro Prieto 5 rural town.

The mid-30s victim, who was dressed on a black shirt, blue denim jeans and red tennis shoes, had a gunshot wound.

The corpse was found on a dirt road close to an irrigation canal.

Another man was found dead at 10 p.m. Monday next to Hotel La Hacienda in the Progreso area west of Mexicali.

The authorities were unable to determine the body’s gender due to the state of decomposition. The victim, whose cause of death was not immediately determined on a preliminary basis, was dressed in blue denim jeans, gray sweatshirt and black boots.
