A Mexicali rural town was highlighted Tuesday for its high numbers of active Covid-19 cases.

State Oversight Chief Nestor Hernandez said Ciudad Morelos is second in Baja California with 17 cases. First place goes to Colonia Buenos Aires in Tijuana and third is the Vicente Guerrero area in the municipality of San Quintín.

As of Monday evening, the state had 1,270 active cases. Of those, 371 were in Mexicali.

Also, in the last 24 hours the state recorded 49 new cases and 11 deaths. Of those, Mexicali reported 16 new cases and one new death. Since the pandemic first hit the state Mexicali has recorded 44,585 cases and 4,151 deaths.
