A San Luis, Ariz., woman died Friday evening after a rural Mexicali accident, according to media reports.

The incident was reported to the police at 6 p.m. on the San Luis Highway by the Ejido Tehuantepec rural town.

Upon arrival the police found at the scene a Chevrolet pickup and an injured woman by the side.

Paramedics declared the woman dead.

The victim was identified as Karla Guadalupe Ruiz Govea, 36.

The driver told the police the vehicle had a flat tire that caused the pickup to turn over.

Both the woman and her children were expelled from the vehicle during the accident.

The authorities transported Karla, 16, and Alejandro, 14, to a San Luis, Ariz. hospital. The police detained the driver, Alejandro, 36, to determine the cause of the accident.
