Months after being available for the General public the state began Tuesday to vaccinate thousands of prisoners.

State Penitentiary System Commissioner Maria Elena Andrade and Secretary of Public Health Adrian Medina launched vaccination of 15,000 prisoners that continued Wednesday and that includes correctional officers and the juvenile hall population.

Sec. Medina admitted that there is a high risk of an outbreak in prisons. Also, the authorities provided 5,000 KN95 face masks and 2,000 face shields.
