State and city officials started the Holy Week public safety operations in order to keep visitors and tourists safe in Baja California’s highways and towns.

Mexicali Mayor Norma Bustamante led the local operation that is expected to be replied to all over the state. Along with the National Guard and the military, as well as the state Attorney General’s office and the Department of Public Safety, the authorities plan to deploy over 70 police agents in rural Mexicali, as well as tourist areas like Rio Hardy, Campo Mosqueda and others.
