A state official has been accused of domestic violence, according to media reports.

State Attorney General Ricardo Carpio said Mexicali regional director of the Commission to Protect against Sanitary Risks, Abraham Félix, has been accused of the crime.

The state prosecutorial agency is analyzing how to move forward with the case, Carpio said.

Any complaint against a state official will be appropriately addressed, the attorney general said.

Governor Marina Avila asked to investigate the case, the newspaper said. Félix was originally appointed as Undersecretary of Health by now former Governor Jaime Bonilla.
