The state of Baja California reported 37 homicides of women as of Feb. 28 — a figure that leaves the state fourth nationwide.

A report from the Executive Secretary of the National Public Safety System says the state of Guanajuato leads the nation with 61.

However, in Baja California only two of those cases have been classified as femicides. In comparison, the state of Mexico has recorded 22 of those cases as femicides.

As of last month the state has recorded 341 injured women in domestic violence cases and 751 emergency calls.
