Within the next few days, state authorities plan to suspend the mandate of indoor use of face masks.

State Secretary of Public Health Adrián Medina said the mandated suspension is being addressed by the Scientific Committee, La Voz newspaper reported.

The proposal is expected to be introduced to Governor Marina Avila.

“It is very probable that this week we can make an announcement about the optional indoor use of face masks,” Sec. Medina said. “We are waiting for the next five or seven days after the mobility lifting.” In the last 24 hours before Tuesday the state recorded two new Covid-19 cases, no deaths and 137 active cases, of which 18 are in Mexicali.
