The state of Baja California will stay for two more weeks under the yellow tier of the epidemiological light system.

The Department of Public Health said the tier will remain until at least April 17.

All of the 32 Mexican states had been set in green tier.

The agency said although Baja California’s cases have been consistently declining the authorities asked people to use face masks indoors, washing hands constantly, social distancing and getting vaccinated.

On Monday, the state launched massive vaccination clinics all over Baja California right before the Holy Week break.

As of Sunday, Mexicali reports 74 of the 265 active Covid-9 cases registered statewide.

In the 24 hours before Sunday’s report the state recorded six new cases, with two of those in Mexicali.

The authorities said 244 patients are ambulatory, while 19 were hospitalized and two connected to a ventilator — none of these cases were vaccinated. Since the pandemic first hit Baja California over two years ago Mexicali has had 46,094 accumulated cases.
