The state of Baja California will remain in the green tier of the epidemiological light system for the next couple weeks, the Scientific Committee said.

The green tier allows businesses to fully operate, as well as many other venues.

Mexicali General Hospital Director Miguel Bernardo Moreno announced that the hospital has restarted patient visits Monday.

However, those visiting must show a vaccination certificate, while visiting will be limited to one person per patient.

In the meantime, the hospitals of the State agency in charge of state employees pensions and healthcare services reported Tuesday no patients with Covid-19.

Assistant Director Angelica Pon said the 25 beds of Mexicali Hospital and the 16 of Ensenada report no patients.

Secretary of Public Health Adrian Medina said Baja California has reached the lowest epidemiological risk since the pandemic first started.

After the Omicron variant wave, the State reached 20 points in epidemiological risk, a figure that was reduced to 5.

Sec. Medina attributed the reduction to the vaccination effort.

On Sunday, the state reported 12 new cases for a total of 346 active cases, of which 92 were of Mexicali.
