An individual allegedly robbed about $1,100 in Mexican currency from a store Thursday afternoon, according to police reports.

The incident took place at 4 p.m. at the Coppel store located in Plaza del Sol shopping center in Fraccionamiento Real del Rio area in Western Mexicali.

A 24-year-old employee told the police the suspect, who was dressed on a black shirt and a camouflage cap, arrived in the cash register area and tendered a note.

The piece of paper asked the cashier to provide all money available due to an emergency.

The store employee told the police the suspect presumably showed the victim a firearm. Then, the suspect fled.
