A man who allegedly robbed a southern Mexicali store was apprehended by Mexicali police officers Friday night.

The police said the incident was reported at 8:38 p.m. in the Ley market located in Juventud 2000 shopping center, a few blocks south of the Police Headquarters.

The suspect was identified as Luis Antonio, 35.

The police said the suspect was allegedly apprehended in possession of four deodorants and a 9 mm pistol loaded with a magazine and four ammunition rounds.

A reporting party said the suspect attempted to steal the items from the store.

Upon arriving at the scene the suspect turned violent and threatened to brandish a gun. After the suspect was under control the police found the firearm.
