The rehabilitation of the Abasolo Avenue that started during the past administration was finished by the Department of Infrastructure and Urban Development.

Secretary Arturo Espinoza said the close to $2.5 million project included pavement and other features. However, signaling will take place next week.

Espinoza said although the street still needs signals for drivers to use the road.

The state official added that businessmen in the area approached the authorities to modify the project in order to add more lanes in the industrial zone.

Espinoza said the additional cost was paid for by benefitted companies. The street connects eastern Mexicali residents with the airport and the East Port of Entry.
