During the pandemic over 7,000 high school students quit school, according to state officials.
Now the pandemic has stepped back in the state the authorities seek to make these students return to school.
Undersecretary of High School Education Alvaro Mayoral said desertion was caused by lack of Wi-Fi connection, loss of family members and emotional distress.
For the upcoming school year the authorities will open over 40,000 high school registrations for students. Registration opened Monday and will close by month’s end. Students will be assigned to their school next month.
