At least about 40,000 Mexicali residents had struggled to get their electronic vaccination certificate due to different issues, a Mexican official said.
Mexican government delegate in Mexicali Jaime Rojo said thousands of local residents had visited Mexico’s Department of Wellbeing office in order to get their proof of vaccination corrected.
Due to the high amount of people interested in correcting their records the agency has set up an appointment list to provide services.
Rojo said vaccinated residents had had problems as their records show inconsistencies with the email addresses or telephone numbers provided in their vaccination report.
The government platform issues a mistaken QR code included in the proof of vaccination, Rojo said. Both email addresses and telephone numbers help residents obtain their electronic records, the Mexican official said.
