Three individuals were nabbed Sunday afternoon in a rural area in alleged possession of drugs that were transported in a small plane, according to media reports.
The incident was reported at 1:53 p.m. by the Ejido Hermosillo rural town.
The police received a report regarding a Cessna plane that landed in a clandestine area.
Authorities found at the scene a white Cessna plane with Mexican registration XB-JWK.
Mexican and state police officers were deployed to the area.
The authorities arrested José Alberto, 33, the plane’s pilot, as well as Caín, 26, and Jaime Ramón, 26, all of the state of Sinaloa.
Inside the plane the authorities found several packages of fentanyl wrapped with tape. The suspects and the drugs were turned to the Mexican Attorney General’s office.
