The US plans to donate Covid-19 vaccines to Baja California in order to get administered to children, a state official said.

State Secretary of Public Health Adrian Medina said those Pfizer vaccines will be administered to children 5-11.

According to the state official the donation is close to getting approved.

Children had not been considered by the Mexican government for vaccination although in school instruction is expected to fully resume next month.

Mexicali children had been seen in Imperial Valley clinics for vaccination.

The US has offered a thousand vaccines initially, Medina said.

A similar effort was held in the Tijuana area. Donated vaccines would be administered in the boundaries of both countries, the Secretary said.
