Adults 18 and older started out getting their Covid-19 boost Thursday, state authorities said.
State Secretary of Public Health José Adrián Medina said the AstraZeneca vaccine will be administered to those who completed their first vaccines.
Most of the vaccination sites were installed in schools, the official said.
Vaccination will also be available to those who are close to 14 years of age and older.
In Mexicali, Teenagers and young adults can get their vaccines at the City Fairgrounds, in the Military Headquarters, the Ciudad Deportiva sports complex, the Health Center of the Santorales area, the main campus of the Autonomous University of Baja California and the private Xochicalco University.
As of Thursday, Mexicali reported 73 new Covid-19 cases and seven deaths.
Since the pandemic first hit the city, Mexicali has had 45,076 confirmed accumulated cases and 4,202 accumulated deaths.
