Two taxi drivers were arrested by Mexicali police after being caught with nine Brazilian citizens.

According to police reports the incident took place at 6 a.m. Friday by State Highway 8 in Colonia Oribe de Alba rural town.

The suspects were identified as Jose de Jesus, 54, and Jose Rodolfo, no age reported.

The police said the suspects were driving a white 2020 Nissan March and a white 2015 Nissan Tsuru, both registered with Taxi central cab company.

The suspects were allegedly transporting nine Brazilian immigrants, including three boys ages 2, 8 and 10.

Also, the Taxi drivers were transporting four men and two women.

The police stopped the drivers for driving in excess of speed.

One of the immigrants told the police the suspects were going to take them to the U.S. by paying $4,000.
